A Little Help For My Friend

Uncategorized

Rebuilding a Springfield RO Elite Target for my friend. As usual, the bushing is loose, there’s a bit of a play when I wiggle the barrel between the breach face and the top lugs, and the trigger group is nothing to write home about (unless, of course, you want to whine about how gritty and heavy that trigger is). My friend wanted to replace the MSH with the arched one and he also wanted stippling. I didn’t realize how difficult it is to find an arched smooth MSH in carbon steel. Finally found one from Smith&Alexander. Ordered a new bushing from EGW and trigger set from Cylinder & Slide.

So what makes the RO Elite Target worth $1000, aside from the nicely finished frame, slim bushings and thin G10 grips, and nice BoMar-style sights? Not sure…
